Kevin Golden says that when he was a student at Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary, he was "the kid with the frogs in his pocket.".
As a longtime custodian in the district, his passion for reptiles combined with his love of woodworking led him to build students their own reptile habitat.
Golden told News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Matt Hammer that it took him about four months to complete the build, which is complete with small caves and water features for his critters to relax in.
Fittingly, one of the turtles who is helping students there learn about all things reptile is named "Kevin" himself.
