A fatal accident involving two buses carrying Special Olympics athletes Sunday is the fourth horrific crash to occur on a stretch of the New York State Thruway in Orange County.Since February, 10 people have lost their lives along the stretch of thruway between exits 15 in Sloatsburg and 16 in Harriman. The latest accident claimed the life a Bronx man. The accident happened around 11 a.m. Sunday on the southbound side of the Thruway in Tuxedo. Police say two buses carrying Special Olympics athletes were pulled off on the shoulder. A truck smashed into the back of the rear bus, sending that forward into the other bus. The 42-year-old bus driver, who was in between the two buses checking out a mechanical problem, was killed. None of the athletes were seriously hurt. According to officials from the Thruway Authority, driver errors caused all of the crashes and there are no structural problems with the road.
