Middletown crews responded to a two-alarm fire at a home on Academy Avenue on Sunday.
Firefighters arrived to find flames and heavy black smoke coming from the house, prompting them to call for a second alarm, according to the Middletown Fire Department.
Photos show a room blackened and charred, with a bed nearly melted and debris scattered across the floor. There was extensive smoke damage to the walls, and holes were left in the ceiling.
No word yet on how the fire started or if anyone was injured.
