Two men are in police custody in connection with the stabbing death of a 21-year-old man inside a local deli.

Police say Cody Dockery, 20, is being charged with the murder of 21-year-old Karl Smith. Police say Smith was stabbed twice in the chest Thursday inside Manny's Grocery store on Jackson Street. Also facing charges is Mateen Thornton, 21, who police say helped Dockery. Smith's aunt said she has prayed for justice each day since the tragic incident. According to Smith's family and friends, he was trying to get his life back on track by working to get his General Educational Development (GED).

Police have not yet released a motive. The investigation is still ongoing.
