Two men plead guilty to arson in 2025 Tarrytown lighthouse fire

Two men have admitted to intentionally setting fire to the Tarrytown lighthouse last year.

The fire caused over $100,000 in damages.

The Westchester District Attorney's Office says 19-year-old Elvin Ayavaca, of White Plains, and 20-year-old Joseph Barrero, of Harrison, pleaded guilty to arson.

They both have been ordered to pay $50,000 and perform 150 hours of community service.
