Two 16-year-olds are facing charges after police say they carried out two separate gunpoint robberies targeting taxi drivers in Rockland County.
Haverstraw police say the first robbery happened Oct. 4 after a taxi driver picked up a passenger at the Palisades Center Mall and drove the suspect to the Village of Haverstraw. Investigators say the suspect displayed a firearm, demanded money and then fled on foot.
Police say a second robbery happened Oct. 10 and involved two suspects who also used a taxi from the Palisades Center Mall. Authorities say both suspects displayed firearms, demanded money and assaulted the driver before fleeing on foot.
The two suspects were arrested Tuesday and arraigned in Rockland County Superior Youth Part Court. Bail was set.
Because the suspects are minors, police are not releasing any additional information.
