An Ulster County teen is recovering after being hit by a vehicle while riding an electric bike.
The 15-year-old was riding the bike earlier this month when a vehicle hit the bike and knocked the teen onto the pavement.
The child was evaluated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to Westchester Medical Center Health Alliance Hospital with minor injuries.
Police say the 40-year-old driver of a Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on Route 9W trying to pass the bike when the teen made a left into Saugerties Plaza.
Investigators say the child failed to signal and wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The parents were issued a citation.
The driver also got a ticket for passing in a no-passing zone.
