The Ulster County Police Department is warning residents about a scam involving someone pretending to be an officer.
Police say they’ve received multiple reports of someone pretending to be from the state police department, who then demands money.
Officials say they are “spoofing” the State Police Kingston barrack’s number, and claim they are trying to collect unpaid taxes, and threatening arrest.
Officials are reminding residents that state police will not call you to collect unpaid bills.
