United Way of the Dutchess & Orange Region gets $50,000 to fight childhood hunger

The money will go toward increasing enrollment in food assistance programs.

No Kid Hungry has announced a $250,000 grant to five New York school districts and providers to help feed more students and their families.
United Way of the Dutchess & Orange Region will receive $50,000 of those funds.
The money will go toward increasing enrollment in food assistance programs.
No Kid Hungry is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world.
Officials say 1 in 7 kids in New York struggle with hunger.
