Families in need got some much needed help Monday in the City of Hills.
More than 100 mattresses were boxed up and loaded up for deliveries by nonprofits.
The event was hosted by United Way.
Organizers say the mattresses are meant to benefit anyone in the region in need of help, including migrants and victims of recent house fires.
"If you're struggling to make ends meet, you might not have the opportunity to get a brand-new, high-quality, nice mattress. So this is something that would be really impactful for our communities," says Avery Zuvic, director of Community Impact, of the United Way of Westchester & Putnam Co.
All of the 150 mattresses were provided by Mattress Firm.
