A Bronx bodega clerk is fighting for his life Tuesday after he was shot three times, once in the face.
From his window, a neighbor said he saw the 24-year-old worker bleeding on the sidewalk. Police said two armed men held up the R.C. Paraiso Grocery on Davidson Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
The store was closed Tuesday and the investigation remains open with no arrests.
Residents claim criminals are no longer waiting until dark to rob stores in the University Heights neighborhood. Within the past few weeks, businesses along W. 181st Street have been robbed, some in broad daylight.
Neighbors want the NYPD to boost patrols, but city figures show robberies are down nearly 10 percent since last year and felony assaults are down 4.5 percent.
