The holiday season is well upon New Yorkers, and for those struggling to find work around this time, UPS is bringing seasonal jobs to the NYC area.
UPS says there are currently 3,100 open positions in the New York metro area.
UPS’s “Brown Friday” is happening on Nov. 4 and 5, with 450 virtual and in-person events across the country aimed at hiring 60,000 people.
“The events are really to engage the candidate”, says Brendan O’Connell, a representative of UPS. He says they hold these events to help answer questions about any openings and the jobs themselves.
The jobs in our area with current open positions are seasonal drivers, driver helpers, and package handlers inside the warehouses.
Although these are seasonal jobs, UPS says there are long-term benefits, such as tuition assistance.
