3ds agoThe U.S. Attorney's Office is now calling for tougher sentences for former Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota and his top aide Christopher McPartland.
The recommendation is that they each be sentenced to eight years in prison. That's more than the guidelines of 57 to 71 months.
Spota and McPartland were convicted of orchestrating a cover-up in the beating of Christopher Loeb by then Suffolk Police Chief James Burke.
Both men will be sentenced June 30.
