After days of delays, new vaccine shipments are arriving in New York
Over 6 million doses nationwide were delayed due to last week's winter storms.
That's about three days' worth of shipments. “We've been able to get 2 million of those 6 million doses out. We expect to rapidly catch up this week, fill that backlog, make sure they're out to communities and also meet our deadlines and our timelines of the doses that are due to go out this upcoming week," says White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
Also, New York state begins scheduling appointments this week at the new FEMA mass vaccination site that's being set up at the National Guard Armory in Yonkers.
Scheduling begins Wednesday for residents in specific ZIP codes in both Yonkers and Mount Vernon.
When the site opens March 3, appointments will extend to all county residents who are eligible.
