State police say two drivers involved in a head-on collision Thursday in Orange County have died.
Newly obtained photos show a horrific scene of mangled metal and strewn construction debris.
Authorities say a box truck and van collided during the morning rush-hour on Route 32 near Falls Lane.
State police have identified the box truck driver as 48-year-old Clive Booth, from Goshen, and the van driver as 29-year-old Pedro Lorenzo Gutierrez-Lacon, from Spring Valley.
Authorities say the van was full of migrant construction workers and that five people suffered serious injuries.
News 12 talked to one neighbor who heard the crash but didn’t want to be identified.
“This is a horrible stretch here. There’s accidents all the time. I even got rear ended last year coming into my driveway,” said the resident.
So far, authorities have not said what caused the crash and state police say troopers are still working to identify the passengers injured.
News 12 reached out to the company named on the box truck Friday, Northwards Trucking Incorporated in Goshen, but no one answered the phone.
State police say the accident remains under investigation and are asking anyone who saw what happened to contact them at 845-782-8311.
