Mourning continues throughout the city for the two officers gunned down execution-style on Saturday.
A prayer vigil was held Monday afternoon for officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.
More than 100 people gathered on the front steps of the 50th Precinct in Kingsbridge Heights.
Those in attendance held up photos of the two officers as well as signs thanking NYPD officers who work to keep their neighborhoods safe.
The 45-minute vigil also included a prayer service where rabbis from the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale led prayer to promote peace, unity and calm during these difficult times.
Rabbi Avi Weiss, of the Hebrew Institute, says he is inviting everyone from the 50th Precinct to join him during a Sabbath service on Saturday. In the meantime, he says NYPD appreciation events should happen in every precinct throughout the city in order to promote peace.
