Several vigils this week will be held this week in the Hudson Valley to honor Westchester's own DMX.
City and community leaders will host a gathering at the 4th Street park in Mount Vernon from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
The rapper, born Earl Simmons, died Friday after being on life support for over a week at White Plains Hospital due to a heart attack.
There have been many prayer vigils and memorials near his childhood home in Yonkers, in White Plains where he was hospitalized, and one last Wednesday in Mount Vernon, where he was born.
Fans and friends had left flowers, candles and messages for the celebrity, hoping he’d pull through.
