Hastings-on-Hudson police have released the identity of the village resident who died in a car fire last Friday.

The victim has been identified as 82-year-old Joseph Moran.

Police say Moran's Hyundai was found fully engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the municipal building. Moran was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. At this time, police are calling it a tragic accident.
