Two Port Chester police officers are recovering from injuries following a violent arrest.

According to officials, the incident occurred on Saturday when officers confronted a 28-year-old man suspected of shoplifting.

The situation escalated into a struggle after the man was informed he would be arrested.

One officer was head-butted by the man, while the other sustained a hand injury during the incident.

Police have not disclosed the location of the incident, but have stated that they are increasing their presence in targeted areas.
