A Virginia fugitive wanted on a federal narcotics trafficking charge was arrested earlier this week in Eastchester.
The Westchester County Police Department says it happened Monday morning a little after 10 p.m. when an officer saw a 2023 Hyundai Sonata with tinted windows traveling eastbound on the Cross County Parkway.
After doing a license plate check, he learned the car's North Carolina registration was expired. The officer followed the car onto New Rochelle Road and pulled it over in a gas station lot. After checking the driver's ID, the officer found the warrant for narcotics trafficking. The 34-year-old driver was arrested, and police found a .38 caliber revolver, a small amount of heroin, and more than $12,000 in the car.
The two other female passengers in the car were then arrested. All three were charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The driver was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
