Walden village manager indicted for allegedly hiding $1.1M on tax returns

The village manager of Walden, who also serves as an Orange County legislator, has been indicted by federal prosecutors for allegedly hiding more than $1.1 million in income on his tax returns.
According to the indictment, John Revella, an attorney, is accused of failing to report that income from his law practice between 2018 and 2022.
Prosecutors say Revella deposited money into a lawyer trust account and then cashed roughly 1,700 checks without reporting the full amount on his federal tax returns. Federal authorities allege that resulted in significant tax losses.
Revella serves as Walden's village manager, a position appointed by the village board that oversees day-to-day operations, public safety and personnel.
Walden Mayor Becky Pearson declined to comment. News 12 has reached out to Revella for comment and is awaiting a response.
