The town of Wallkill is giving a well deserved shoutout to one of their K-9 officers.
In a Facebook post, the police department say that K-9 Bane competed in his first competition in the USPCA Region 7 tracking trials.
During the event, competitors had to complete a track and locate four pieces of evidence. The track was laid approximately 30 minutes in advance prior to each team starting the search to replicate a real world scenario.
K-9 Bane found all of the evidence and stayed on track, coming in 5th place out of the 26 K-9 teams.
Bane also received an additional certification in “tracking” from USPCA (United States Police Canine Association).
