A man wanted on two warrants in two New York counties led police on a chase through Rockland County Wednesday.
Police were looking for 48-year-old John Yaciuk after he failed to show up for a court appearance on charges of assaulting a police officer in Haverstraw. Police found Yaciuk in Congers near his workplace at the Clarkstown Parks Department. A lengthy chase ensued, and at one point police considered calling off the pursuit because it became dangerous.
Police finally caught Yacuik at his home in Pomona. He is being held at the county jail until his arraignment Thursday at Rockland County Court.
