Washingtonville residents stood in awe Monday as they assessed the damage left by Sunday's storm.

Water from the Moodna Creek now covers Mays Field where children usually play ball. Routes 208 and 94 are submerged, making a treacherous commute for drivers.

As Washingtonville tries to cleanup the watery mess, more damage could surface when the village dries out. Authorities say they have reports of fuel leaks from toppled tanks.

Meanwhile, firefighters had to evacuate people by boat from the Brookside Manor Trailer Park. Authorities say some were initially unwilling to leave their homes, but changed their minds after losing power Monday afternoon.

Many residents say they're in shock. "I'm here 30 years and it's definitely the worst I've seen," said Bernadette Fumarola.
