A Washingtonville mother is hoping for a Christmas miracle this holiday season and is asking the community to help her find a living donor for her teenage daughter who desperately needs a liver transplant.

Natalie Caudy, 14, has a rare disease that affects the autoimmune system called LCH that her mother, Kait Caudy, says attacks the girl’s bones and organs. The Washingtonville High School freshman was diagnosed with the disease as a toddler.

Kait Caudy says the teen has severe liver damage and several lesions as a result, and that her condition is considered critical.

“They found a growth. They did another scan, and they found two smaller lesions,” says Kait Caudy.”

Natalie’s mom says her doctors were hoping to have a donor by Christmas and that so far, no one who’s expressed interest in helping has been a match.

“There have been so many people who reached out to me during this process,” says Kait Caudy. “I feel like that is what has brought her through all these years: the love and people’s hearts and selflessness.”

For more information on Natalie’s story and to see if you could be a potential match, scan the QR code linked on this post. More information on becoming a living organ donor can be found here.
