A water leak paired with frigid temperatures turned the Cross Bronx Expressway into a skating rink for cars this morning.

The leak caused the entire westbound ramp for exits 1B, C and D to ice over, leaving vehicles spinning and causing at least two cars to crash.

Police shut down the exit ramp for about an hour to allow a sanitation truck to salt the road. Officials from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) also came out to check a retaining wall near the ramp.
