The Westchester community is mourning the sudden death of a beloved community pillar and correction officer.
Officer Kevin Higgs unexpectedly died on March 20 from a medical condition at 51 years old.
He was an 18-year veteran of the Westchester Department of Corrections.
Higgs also helped to create programs, like "Ferris World Ball" in White Plains, for countless underprivileged kids to play basketball.
On Saturday, visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Ballard-Druand Funeral Home in White Plains.
His funeral service follows at 11:30 a.m.
