Westchester County announced a new program to help fight opioid overdoses.

Doses of Narcan will now be attached to lock boxes outside numerous public facilities countywide.

Officials say the drug is incredibly safe to use and easy to administer, especially considering it only takes a few minutes before the effects of an overdose are irreversible.
It's important to note, Narcan is a temporary solution and 911 should still be called in the case of an opioid overdose.
