Three years ago, the Westchester County Center in White Plains stood at the forefront of the Hudson Valley's COVID vaccine distribution efforts. But today, it's joyfully back to its original purpose—fun!

Adorned with festive holiday decorations, the center has sprung back to life - hosting a gamut of events from sports and music to trade shows.

Building Manager Veronica Snyder expressed elation, stating, "We're thrilled to return to the vibrant atmosphere we once had. We played our part during COVID, and now, we're back in full swing."

During the pandemic, the building's role evolved dramatically. Initially transformed into a makeshift hospital, it later became a vital COVID testing and vaccination hub for the Hudson Valley. The transformation back into an entertainment hot spot involved significant reconstruction efforts, according to Operations Supervisor Mike Lanni, who mentioned the thorough cleaning of every aspect post-construction.

This weekend is set to witness a grand concert featuring homegrown talents including Yonkers-based hip-hop group The Lox and nine-time Grammy Award-winner Mary J. Blige.

The highly anticipated concert is scheduled for Saturday at 9 p.m., with doors opening at 8 p.m. Limited tickets are available.

The center also anticipates hosting sporting events like the Westchester Knicks, wrestling matches, the Harlem Globetrotters and the revival of trade shows such as the Reptile Expo. Moreover, classic favorites like "The Price Is Right," "Dancing with the Stars" and the circus are making a comeback at the County Center.
