Westchester County Department of Health closes several beaches due to potentially high bacteria levels

Several beaches in Westchester were closed due to potentially high bacteria from significant rain.

The Westchester County Department of Health announced Wednesday it has closed several beaches after significant rain brought possible high levels of bacteria to the water.

Mamoroneck’s Harbor Island, Beach Point Club, Orienta Beach Club and Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club were closed. Rye’s the Coveleigh Club was also closed.

Hudson Park Beach, Davenport Club, Greentree Club and Surf Club in New Rochelle were closed as well.

No word yet on whether they'll be back open on Thursday.
