Westchester County and Hudson Valley are dealing with the aftermath of powerful storms Thursday that ripped through the area.
NYSEG reports that as many as 20,000 customers were without power in and around Northern Westchester Wednesday. Con Edison also reported thousands of power outages. While officials say many people have their electricity back, some are still without power. Crews in Rockland County are also working to restore power in several locations. Utility crews say many poles will have to be replaced.
Highway crews worked through the night to clear roadways of debris. Route 139 in Somers has reopened after being shut down for hours while crews cleaned up the roadway.
