Westchester
County is searching for volunteers to take part in its 9/11 Day of Service
activities.
The Day of Service is meant to honor those
lost in the attacks and to inspire Americans to work together to do good.
Events include
two large-scale cleanup projects on Sept. 11 at Tibbets Brook Park in Yonkers
and at Croton Point Park in Croton-On-Hudson.
The following
volunteer activities will also be held on Sept 12:
Iona College
Create no-sew blankets for Project Linus/children in hospitals
- Shift One: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Shift Two: 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Create cards and help send positive messages to troops serving overseas
- Shift One: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Shift Two: 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Westchester
Community College:
Create literacy kits to help early learners meet their education goals
- Shift One: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Shift Two: 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
