The former superintendent and a former security system specialist in the Greenburgh-Graham School District have been arrested after being accused of stealing school funds.
The Westchester County district attorney and the state comptroller say that Oliver Levy and Surendra Kumar were arrested Thursday on corruption charges for allegedly stealing over $12,000 in school funds.
Prosecutors say the funds designated for students were used to buy designer items and to pay off personal expenses over a four-year span.
The school district had previously placed both Levy and Kumar on administrative leave.
The school district said in a statement that it is cooperating with the investigation and reviewing its practices.
