Hundreds of Democrats gathered Sunday to kick off a busy election year.
"This is a wonderful time to be a New York Democrat," says June O'Neil, the chairwoman on the New York Democratic Committee. "We are holding all the cards."
While Westchester County Executive Andy Spano has not said if he will run for re-election, former Republican Legislator Rob Astorino has said he's only weeks away from announcing plans to run for the county's top spot.
"When I run, I'll be running on my record," says Spano. "It's an incredible record, it's probably the best-managed county in the state of New York.
"It's the only one with a AAA bond rating and we have reduced costs significantly and the people know that. We'll be running on that record."
Westchester's top prosecutor Janet DiFiore says she will run for re-election and plans to make an announcement in the next couple of months.
"It's very, very important for us to communicate to all of the voting public and all of the people of Westchester the importance of having ... a fair-minded prosecutor's office serving all the people here in Westchester County," she says.
