Two Westchester buddies turned TikTok stars have teamed up to help local businesses in need.
Anthony Kaplan and Mike Vanacoro say they love to eat. They go big - or go home.
"So, they had this mac and cheese burger challenge, we filmed it, everyone was cheering, it got over 1 million views…we were just doing it for fun," said Vanacoro.
And that's when Beefy Burger Boi became a TikTok sensation - a two-man band with more than 45,000 followers.
The guys are childhood friends from Yorktown Heights, and their mission now is to help restaurants hit by COVID-19 in their own community.
"We figured we're getting so much traction through TikTok, let's tag the restaurants, give them the exposure that they need," says Vanacoro.
They've dished out the love to Westchester favorites like Pizza Barn in Yonkers, Countryside Kitchen in Mahopac and Bona Bona in Port Chester.
On the menu this week is Dorry's Diner in White Plains.
Vanacoro says they just like to go to new restaurants and try new foods.
"If we help others along the way, then why not," says Kaplan.
