A Westchester IT manager just returned from a trip to southern India where he delivered more than 40 life changing gifts to people in need.
Sam Johnson has been raising money and donating dozens of prosthetic limbs to hundreds of the poorest people in southern India for almost 10 years.
He works closely with Ottobocks, the company that makes the prosthetics.
This trip was an $80,000 effort that his family, church and friends rallied together to make happen.
"We just don't know what we have until we lose it, right? And just imagine the life of a person without a leg,” Johnson says. “When I go there again, they come back, and they tell the stories of what they're doing and how they're supporting their families.”
Next year, Johnson is not only looking to make his group Life and Limb an official nonprofit organization, but he's also working to double the number of people they're helping with a goal of 100 limbs. If you want to help his efforts, visit his
