Frustration is growing over the Trump administration's proposal to cut funding to Amtrak's Northeast Corridor.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins and Rep. George Latimer (D-16) held a press conference at the New Rochelle train station this morning to speak out against the plan.

Latimer called the corridor the most heavily traveled Amtrak route in the country. He said he rides Amtrak weekly and sees the growth in ridership. He says the proposed cut is "yet another bad business decision."

Jenkins said slashing funding for the nation's busiest rail corridor — while boosting less-used lines elsewhere — is not only shortsighted, but also reckless.

The White House wants to reduce funding by 25%.
