The White Plains New Year's Eve celebration is back after a two-year pandemic hiatus.
Preparations are already underway at the intersection of Court and Main streets.
The city already has some barriers out and lights to sparkle up Saturday night.
But the star of the night, the ball hasn’t arrived yet. It is scheduled to arrive Saturday afternoon.
The ball is currently being prepared by White Plains City Sanitation, getting its last adjustments to make sure it truly shines at the time of the countdown to the new year.
This is the same ball that's been used in year's past.
The last time it dropped was when the Hudson Valey said goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020.
White Plains Mayor Tom Roach expects its return to have a great turnout. "The people you see at an event like this, and I think the joy of being with each other, is going to make this year extra special."
Live music at starts at 10:30 p.m. followed by the countdown to midnight and fireworks from The Galleria.
