Over 60% of adults in New York can now take their masks off and capacity limits are lifted for businesses across the state.
Growlers Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe says it is very excited because now they can seat a group of people at every table outside and inside -- as long as they're 6 feet apart.
And people who've been vaccinated - their experience going out will likely be more enjoyable now because they can leave their masks at home.
But the one big caveat is that many businesses are relying on the honor system.
Growlers Beer Bistro is depending on its customers, to be honest about whether or not they've been vaccinated.
Many critics of the decision to lift the mask mandate say many unvaccinated people will just say they had the shots in order to take their masks off.
The Growlers staff tells News 12 that everyone that came in Wednesday walked in with their masks on.
Some of the staff are vaccinated but for now, they're keeping the masks on.
More changes are coming May 31.The curfew for all indoor dining areas and catered events will be lifted.
