An extreme cold advisory is in effect tonight until 10 a.m. Monday in the Hudson Valley. Temperatures will feel like -5 to -15F in spots, which can cause frostbite in as little as 15 minutes on exposed skin.
Tonight temperatures are actually not as extreme as Saturday night and this morning. However, wind chills will remain well below zero through Monday morning.
Monday is very cold in the morning with temperatures near 0F and wind chills -10F, but the temperature recovers to the mid-20s in the afternoon. It's less windy with gusts occasionally reaching 20 mph. The wind is expected to become light by Monday night, alleviating wind chill concerns.
A few snowflakes are possible on Tuesday, with rain or snow possibly returning for next weekend ahead of Presidents Day.
Most of the week, you can plan for temperatures just above freezing and expect mainly quiet conditions.
