Wind Advisory For the entire Hudson Valley In effect until 7 p.m. today (at the latest)

Expect sustained winds of 15-25 MPH with gusts around 45-50 MPH. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects (like holiday decorations). Tree limbs could also be blown down and a few power outages are possible.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Hold on to your hat, everyone! And along with the hat, don't forget the thick winter coat, gloves, & scarf. You'll need several winter accessories as we have frigid air RACING through the Hudson Valley today!

A wind advisory is in effect until this evening (until 7 PM at that latest), with gusts potentially getting towards 50 MPH at times. Secure loose items (like holiday decorations) and hold on tight to that steering wheel (especially while driving on bridges).

Temps will trend about 10-20 degrees colder today compared to yesterday. Factor in the winds and temps will feel into the teens at times. Brrrrr! That chill, and those winds will be around into New Year's Day.

Speaking of, the Ball Drop time, as well as before and after, may involve some flurries coming around. Accumulations are not anticipated at this time, but a few spots may get a quick coating easily with the ground trending very cold.

After we welcome in 2026, temps stay chilly for the next several days to come but at least the winds will not be running high. Expect mainly dry conditions as well.
