The Fordham University Lady Rams are preparing to host their first hoops holiday tourney over the weekend, despite being 0-11 for the season.
The Lady Rams will host Mount Saint Mary's, Fairfield and Troy in the Fordham Holiday Tournament. The semifinals will be Saturday and the championship game Sunday.
The squad of eight new players is in its second season under coach Cathy Andruzzi. While many players are trying to find their places on the team, freshman Megan Mahoney has excelled.The Staten Island native is the team's leading scorer. She averages just under 12 points, more than three rebounds and two assists per game. Mahoney was recently named the Atlantic 10 Conference co-rookie of the week.
