A Wesley Hills woman was charged with contempt of court today after a dog in her care was hit by a car.
Karol O'Connell, 75, was accused of animal abuse in Dec. 2008 when authorities removed close to two dozen caged dogs from her home. This summer, one of the rescued canines was inexplicably returned to her and has now been seriously injured.
The judge in the case says he never authorized the dog's return and that O'Connell violated his orders. In Wesley Hills Village Court, the judge made it clear that O'Connell will not be allowed to have another dog in her custody anytime soon.
