A 25-year-old Newburgh woman has been indicted for a hit-and-run that killed two people in Marlboro.
Authorities say Angela Fischl struck the two people while they were trying to cross State Route 9W on March 1. One of the victims was in a wheelchair.
Following the crash, officials say Fischl continued driving until she was stopped by Newburgh officers who spotted her driving in a badly damaged vehicle. Fischl has been charged with two counts of leaving an accident that resulted in death.
According to state police, 72-year-old Donna Cristallo was pushing Stephen Celuch, 75, both from Kingston, in his wheelchair and were crossing Route 9W at approximately 9:23 p.m. when they were hit by Fischl.
Celuch was pronounced dead at the scene and Cristallo died from her injuries at St. Luke's Hospital.
Fischl was ordered to Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail. According to online records, she was released on Monday.
