? Some Bronx mothers gave up part of their Mother?s Day weekend to help other moms give their families a home through Habitat for Humanity.
The women, most of whom had no construction experience, spent Saturday working on a building at 156th Street in Melrose that will be home to eight families. The volunteers say it?s rewarding to give back to the community and they also learned some valuable home improvement lessons that they can use in the future.
The mothers say they plan to hold their family members a little bit tighter Sunday when they celebrate Mother?s Day.
