Approximately 3 million people were joined by 40 world leaders Sunday for a mass march through the streets of Paris.

The solidarity march was held to honor the 12 people killed in last week's attack on the office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. The White House is now being scrutinized for not sending top government officials to participate in the march.

News 12 The Bronx hit the streets to ask residents if they think the U.S. should have sent representatives to the rally.

Most people agreed that the U.S. should have sent people over in a show of support. One resident said they are disappointed with the government over the lack of participation, and thinks it was disrespectful.

The White House has since said that it erred in not sending any leading representatives.

Secretary of State John Kerry announced Monday that he plans to make a visit to France this Thursday.
