The beam, which weighs more than 700 pounds and is 11.5-feet tall, was transported by police and fire crews from Matamoras, Penn., through Port Jervis and then to Deerpark.
Officials say the beam will rest on two commemorative stones with a picture of the World Trade Center on it that was taken just one minute before the first plane hit. There will also be an inscription reading ?a moment etched in time.?
Officials say they plan to unveil the monument during a 9/11 memorial.
