A big celebration for the 4th of July happened Thursday in Yonkers.

The city's annual Fireworks on the Waterfront event began around 7 p.m. The fireworks happened at 9 p.m.

The celebration happened in downtown Yonkers along the waterfront.

Yonkers police say a number of streets were closed due to the festivities.
