Democratic candidate for governor Zephyr Teachout has received a major endorsement from the Yonkers Firefighters Union.
The union threw its support behind the law professor at an event held at the Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers. Union member Barry McGoey says they are endorsing Teachout because of her commitment to public education and municipal funding.
Wednesday, a panel of appellate judges upheld a lower court's decision to keep Teachout's name on the ballot for next month's Democratic primary. Go. Andrew Cuomo's campaign has been trying to keep her off the ballot by calling her residency into question.
Cuomo's campaign says it will not appeal the decision, leaving two names on next month's primary ballot.
