Yonkers PD makes arrest in fatal stabbing of man found in parking garage

Police say that the victim was in possession of a cell phone that belonged to 51-year-old Necker Charles, from White Plains. Officials later determined that Charles was the primary suspect in the case.

The Yonkers Police Department says an arrest has been made in connection to a fatal stabbing on Thursday.
Officials say they found an unconscious man inside a parking garage, located at 25 Prospect St. The man, who was found with multiple stab wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that the victim was in possession of a cell phone that belonged to 51-year-old Necker Charles, from White Plains. Officials later determined that Charles was the primary suspect in the case.
An investigation determined that both men were involved in a property dispute. Police also say that surveillance camera footage captured Charles discarding a knife in a nearby sewer.
The knife was recovered and will be processed for forensic evidence.
Police apprehended Charles in Getty Square. He was charged with manslaughter in the first degree.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
